PURPOSE: To provide an electrophotographic method which prevents liquid developers from being attached to a photoconductive drum and from being mixed, from one into the other developers of developing units, when the developing units are returned to their standby positions. CONSTITUTION: The electrophotographic method comprises the process of forming a plurality of electrostatic latent images in order onto an electrostatic- latent-image carrying medium 11 based on print information in which colors are separated, the process of developing in order the separate electrostatic latent images with liquid developers of hues corresponding to their print information while moving the developing units 21-24 with developing rollers into the direction of the tangent of the electrostatic-latent-image carrying medium from their standby positions. After the development, each of the developing units 21-24 is returned to its standby position with its developing roller positioned higher than the level of its liquid developer. |
