PURPOSE: To prevent production of a rugged state on the upper surface of a color filter and to prevent disconection and pinholes in electrodes or dielectric layers to be formed in the succeeding processes by disposing a dye part in an overcoat layer formed on a substrate. CONSTITUTION: The color filter consists of a substrate 10, dye part 12 arranged by patterning at a specified position, and overcoat layer 13 to cover the dye part 12. The substrate 10 is a glass substrate such as soda lime glass, borosilicate glass and the like. As for the dye part 12, pigments are mainly used, and especially inorg. pigments are preferable. As for the material for the overcoat layer 13, a low melting point glass or inorg. oxides are preferably used. Since the obtd. color filter has a flat surface of the overcoat layer 13 which covers the dye part 12, production of pinholes in electrodes or dielectric material to be formed on the filter can be suppressed. |
