The control system for an engine with at least one combustion chamber having a cylinder head (2) fed by inlet ducts (4, 5) linked via ports (41, 51) in a side face of the cylinder head to an inlet manifold (6). The system incorporates a moving shutter (76) in the form of a plate with apertures (70) which enables the flow through the ports to be varied according to the operation of the engine. The shutter plate (77) is designed to slide in an elongated slot (77) between a panel (72) fixed to the cylinder head and a cover (71) connected to the inlet manifold, the panel and cover having apertures (724, 725, 714, 715) in line with the ports (41, 51). The plate is held in place in the slot by elastic elements, eg. metal springs, applying a pressure to the panel and cover. |
