The invention relates to an essentially electronic, portable apparatus to be used and carried by visitors to museums, zoological/botanical gardens, nature parks or any other premises that justify its use, audiovisual information being placed at the disposal of the user on any object whenever an optical reading device approaches a coded board installed in an accessible site and referring to the object to be observed.
