PURPOSE: To simplify structure, to reduce cost and to reduce exchange cost by dispensing with exchanging a propellant by winding up a seat belt by way of rotating a belt winding member by work of an energizing member at the time when deceleration of more than a specified value works on a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A retractor 10 is installed on a lower part of a casing 2 and an emergency winding means 20 to remove sagging of a seat belt 4 at the time of emergency is installed on an upper part of the casing 2 on a seat belt winding device 1. In this case, the emergency winding means 20 has a passage 22 of the seat belt 4 delivered from the retractor 10 and it is provided with a belt winding member 21 to allow free movement of the seat belt 4 normally and to wind up the seat belt 4 by way of rotating. Additionally, it is constituted of an energizing member to turn the belt winding member 21 in a winding direction of the seat belt 4 and an energy absorbing mechanism 50 to absorb working energy by way of plastic deforming at the time when the belt winding member 21 after turning is turned in the reverse direction of the winding direction by force of more than a specified value by the seat belt 4. |
