The objects which are orientated are flat rectangular plates with single lugs on one side. The lugs are central on one axis but off centre along the other. The objects fall into the gap between two inclined contra-rotating rollers (2). The objects tumble about on top of the rollers until they slide between them. The lugs prevent the objects from falling through and ensure that the plates are the required way up. If the plate is back to front, it will fall through when its lug reaches a rebated section (4) of one of the rollers. Such rejected plates (5) are fed back to the input for re-cycling.
