The construction comprises a covered space (1) against an external wall (6) adjoining a room (3). It serves either as a covered balcony for parallel side walls (4) and a front opening (5) or a closed room extending the part to which it is adjoined. The external wall enclosing the room can be displaced perpendicular to its plane from a position (A), in which it closes the room to a position (B) in which it closes the opening of the space. The wall displacement is achieved by rails or runners (7) fixed to the side walls and rollers fixed on the external wall supported on the rails. In order to support the wall weight, rollers (9) placed at its base are in contact with the flooring (14) of the space. In the wall closed position it is against the opening (10) which is delimited by a beam (11), two posts on either side the opening and the floor (13) of the room which is raised relative to that (14) of the space.
