PURPOSE: To indicate wind force with one's own electric power without depending upon external power by equipping a wind force indicator which actuates by supply of power generated by a wind power generator and indicates wind force by means of an electric light indicator. CONSTITUTION: A wind force indicating device 1 set by the side of an express highway for the purpose to inform drivers of vehicles running on the express highway the danger of beam wind is provided with a wind power generator 4 supported by the crest of a post 3 erected on a pedestal 2. The wind power generator 4 is provided with a rotary wing 7 and a dynamo 8 and supported rotatably so that it may always point to the windward. On approximately the midway of the post 3 is a wind force indicator 5 and on the rear end of the wind power generator 4 is a wind force indicator 6 respectively fitted thereon. The wind force indicator 5, which has indication lamps 55 arranged in eight horizontal lines and four vertical lines, is electrified through a commutator 12, which makes a mechanical contact with a slip ring 11 fitted to the lower part of a support shaft 8b, using power generated by the wind power generator 4 as its power source. |
