PURPOSE: To obtain an optical system support in which a shock absorbing means can be arranged with high degree of freedom while suppressing the primary resonance efficiently. CONSTITUTION: The optical system support comprises a member for holding an objective lens, and four springs 30, each having one end secured to the holding member and the other end 30b secured to a fixed member 40. The holding member is supported to be displaced freely by means of the springs 30. The spring 30 is provided with a wide part 30d folded by an angleθand a hole 30e is made therein. The fixed member 40 is provided, on the opposite sides thereof, with liquid-tight box sections 40b for receiving the wide part 30d while preventing a damping material, filled therebetween, from flowing out.
