PURPOSE: To change noise eliminating characteristic according to opening/closing of an opening/closing valve, reduce the number of part, and reduce cost. CONSTITUTION: In a muffler which consists of a first chamber 1 on which an exhaust leading-in pipe 4 is opened, a third chamber 3 on which an exhaust leading-out pipe 5 is opened, a second chamber 2 which is formed separately from the first chamber 1 and the third chamber 3, and an inner pipe 6 for communicating the first chamber 1 and the third chamber 3 with each other, an opening/closing valve 7 which is opened/ closed in an engine operating condition is provided in the inner pipe 6, and also communicating holes 6a, 6b which are communicated with the second chamber 2 are provided upstream and downstream from the opening/closing valve 7 in the inner pipe 6. |
