PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary driving device capable of easily adding and equipping an existing deriving device for ship and moreover being installed easily. SOLUTION: This auxiliary propulsion apparatus has a second diesel engine 4 capable of being added and arranged, a power generator 5 connected with the second diesel engine 4, and an electric motor 7 connected with the power generator 5. The electric motor 7 is connected with a shaft device 2 via a clutch joint 9 for connecting the electric motor 7 with a transmission mechanism 8 and an elastic joint 10 connecting the transmission mechanism 8 with the shaft device 2 of a propeller 3.
