PURPOSE: To obtain an infrared radiation transmitting glass having a high light transmitting properties from a visible region up to the infrared region of 8.0μm wave length, thermally stable and excellent in chemical enduring properties. CONSTITUTION: This infrared radiation transmitting glass consists of 20-50mol% Bi2 O3 , 10-40mol% PbO, 0-20mol% ZnO and 20-60mol% CdF2 .
