Rotary piston engine

The engine has a rotary piston (10) running eccentrically between parallel side walls. Together with a stator (12), the rotor forms at least one working channel (16,18) bounded by engaging surfaces (24,26,28,30) of the stator and rotor. Each working channel has a separate spiral centre (32,34) from which the flow channel (36,38) runs. The flow channel is formed by an intermediate cavity leading outwards between the stator and the rotor. The stator may surround the piston in the form of a frame, with the working channel extending only over a part of the circumference of the rotor.
