PURPOSE: To obtain a communication cable excessive-length storage tray which generates neither light loss nor a code error even when an optical storage tray is taken out during a communication and is also adaptive to the connection of a multi- core optical fiber cable. CONSTITUTION: The section of this tray is formed into a wedgelike shape by decreasing the thickness toward one long-side part 12 of a tray main body 10 formed of a laterally long and shallow casing, a leg 14 for fitting is fitted to the long-side flank, and cable entrance and exits 18 and 20 are provided at both short-side flank corner parts, and a partition wall 24 which partitions the inside of the tray main body nearly equally is provided between the internal surfaces on thin long-side parts while a cable passage is left, an annular center guide 28 is provided almost in the center of the space formed out of the partition wall and the flanks of the tray main body in four directions, and a cable storage space 30 is formed between the partition wall and the four flanks of the tray main body. The bottom plate of the cable storage space is fitted with a connector holder 32, cable pressing plates 36 and 38 are erected toward the cable storage space, and a lid 40 which covers the tray main body is fitted to the long-side part of the tray main body in a freely opening/closing state through a hinge. |
