PURPOSE: To smoothly start a slave shield by easily separating the slave shield from a master shield, and preventing the unexpected rotation or displacement of a cutter ring after the separation. CONSTITUTION: This machine is equipped with a jointing device 26 capable of jointing the cutter ring 20 of a master shield 2 to the cutter disc 21 of a slave shield 3, as well as a fixing device 40 for fastening the cutter ring 20 to the master shield 2 after the separation of the cutter ring 20 from the cutter disc 21. Also, the device 26 is formed out of pins capable of projection along the radial direction of a shield body, and bosses for allowing the pins to be coupled. When the surface of the cutter disc 21 is taken as an X-Y plane, and the shaft of the slave shield 3 as a Z-axis, the displacement of some bosses along the X-axis direction is constrained, while the displacement of other bosses along the Y-axis direction is constrained. Furthermore, the displacement of remaining bosses along the Z-axis direction is constrained. |
