<p>Material having a high absorptive capacity, for use in an absorbent product, such as a sanitary towel, tampon, incontinence protection, nappy and the like, is produced by a highly compressed dry-formed sheet containing at least 70% flash-dried cellulose fibres being finely divided into fragments (6) and included as a component having a high absorptive capacity in the absorbent product. The material displays good absorptive and swelling properties, e.g. a high assimilation capacity and a high degree of surface dryness. In addition the absorbent structure can also contain conventional fluff cellulose pulp and, where appropriate, binding fibres as well. The absorbent structure can be made to be very thin while retaining a high absorptive capacity. <IMAGE></p> |
