A container (12) is provided having a wall (16,18) bounding a material storage space (20) for a bulk supply of material and an opening (22) through which bulk material can be introduced into the storage space (12) from externally thereof. The wall (16,18) is formed at least partially from a flexible material that can be reconfigured to vary the configuration of the storage space (20). A reinforcing insert (14) and a structure (96) cooperating between the reinforcing insert and the container (12) for removably maintaining the flexible container wall (18) in an operative position is provided wherein the reinforcing insert (14,96) maintains the flexible material (18) in a first predetermined shape to facilitate the introduction of bulk material into the material space (12). <IMAGE>
