摘要 PURPOSE: To control potential and to obtain aimed VD by allowing an exposure device arranged at a position after primary electrification and before development to emit light faintly and attenuating the potential of a photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION: Image exposure is performed to the image exposure device 3 by a laser scanner using the combination of a laser diode 34 and a polygon mirror 32, and an exposed part is developed with toner. A contact electrifying member 2 is an electrifying roller constiututed as three layers and pressured with the load of total pressure 5N from both ends of a core bar, and DC voltage is impressed on the member 2. In the case of a part corresponding to the part primarily electrified on the photoreceptor 1, a bias current is always allowed to flow in the laser diode 34 to perform the postexposure of an electrifying surface, thereby attenuating the surface potential of the photoreceptor 1. When an image signal is received, the current obtained by adding the bias current component to ordinary image exposure is applied to the laser diode 34, and the image exposure is performed.
