PURPOSE: To produce an Al alloy excellent in wear resistance. CONSTITUTION: This Al alloy consists of 10.5-14wt.% Si, 0.3-1.0wt.% Mg and/or 1.5-7wt.% Cu and the balance Al with inevitable impurities. In this alloy, the amt. of Si of 10-50μm grain diameter as part of Si existing as 2nd phase grains is >=1% by area. This Al alloy may consist of 10.5-14wt.% Si, 0.2-1.0wt.% Mn and/or Fe and the balance Al with inevitable impurities. In this alloy, the amt. of Si of 10-50μm grain diameter as part of Si existing as 2nd phase grains is >=1% by area.
