PIG FOR STEEL SMELTING CONVERSION, METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ITS PRODUCTION

FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: production of pigs for steel smelting conversion, designated to be used as one of charge components for steel smelting in electrical furnaces and as coolant instead off metal scrap for steel smelting in converters. Pig is hardened pig-iron with located in it iron ore pellets. Pig composition has reduced from pellets iron in mass % of them - 7.5 - 15.0 and zones with lowered concentration of carbon and its surface is monolithic pig iron. Mass of pig is 8 - 45 kg. Method used to produce pig provides for dozed filling of mould first - by fine - up to 5 mm and then by bigger - up to 25 mm fractions of iron ore pellets, then filling of mould by pig iron smelt is exercised by overflow from mould into mould meeting direction of moulds movement, and from casting tap in direction of moulds motion, short time mould cooling from beneath since moment of mould filling up with pellets till beginning of pig iron hardening on contacting mould surface. Mould cooling from above is exercised at end site before pigs unloading and final cooling is exercised by pigs natural cooling. Machine for pigs production has inclined conveyer with moulds communicated to each other, calibrating dozer to feed fractions of pellets by volumes, casting apparatus. EFFECT: increased productivity.
