FIELD: aviation; manufacture of space vehicles. SUBSTANCE: air-jet rocket engine has front cone and rear truncated cone which are rigidly interconnected and are revolving in radial thrust bearings fitted in intermediate middle section. Front cone is provided with screw blades which may enter its body. Air-jet rocket operated in air as follows: when counter-flow gets on screw blades of front cone, both front cone and rear truncated cone rigidly connected with it are set in rotation; working medium (water) enters dynamic nozzle of rear cone; during rotation, centrifugal force acting on blades and walls of dynamic nozzle is increased, thus creating propulsive force. Engine has high performance. Engine is simple in construction, safe and effective in operation. It may be used for space vehicles flying at speeds higher than 20.000 km/h at altitudes up to 100 km.
