The invention relates to a procedure for generating a pattern of recesses (3, 4) in the surface of a workpiece (1), in particular of molybdenum or a molybdenum alloy for rotating-anode X-ray tubes. Such a procedure can be made more cost-effective or environmentally beneficial in that the workpiece (1) is heated in a spot-like manner by a laser beam, the heating spot being passed over the surface in accordance with the pattern of the recesses, in that an oxygen jet is directed onto the heating spot, and in that the energy supply to the heating spot is controlled in such a way that the melting temperature of the material of the workpiece is not reached, but the sublimation temperature of the oxide formed by the heating is exceeded. <IMAGE> |
