PURPOSE: To improve spalling resistance without changing the chemical composition by incorporating a specific plate-like fire-resisting aggregate. CONSTITUTION: In shaped or prepared unshaped refractories composed of a magnesia raw material such as an electrofused magnesia, a sintered magnesia, a carbonaceous raw material such as a scaly graphite, a phenol resin, an alumina cement or the like, 3-70wt.% plate-like fire-resisting aggregate having 0.2-2mm thickness and 2-50 ratio of surface length or width to thickness is blended. |
