PURPOSE: To realize reduction of the labor and prevention of the forgetting of registration at the time of the registration of a new word so that convenience to use is improved by displaying registered candidates accumulated by the execution of KANA (Japanese syllabary)-KANJI (Chinese character) conversion till then at the time of registering the new word in the KANA-KANJI conversion. CONSTITUTION: A converting part 3 retrieves/consults a KANA/KANJI conversion dictionary part 6, and converts an input character string into the mixture sentence of KANA and KANJI. An output part 5 is constituted of a CRT display, etc. The KANA-KANJI conversion dictionary part 6 stores various kinds of vocabulary information, etc., for the KANA-KANJI conversion. A new word registering part 7 executes the registration of the word while consulting the new word registered candidate accumulated by a registered candidate preserving part 4. In such configuration, a part having turned into an unknown word in the KANA-KANJI conversion by the converting part 3 and the result of single KANJI conversion, radical conversion or code input, etc., different from usual conversion operation are preserved beforehand in the registered candidate preserving part 4, and these kinds of accumulated information are controlled by a control part 2 so as to be displayed on the output part 5 as the registered candidate at the time of registering the new word. |
