PURPOSE: To surely inform a user that a maintenance contract becomes null and void by detecting that the maintenance contract becomes null and void by using a contract expiration detecting means and regulating the image forming operation. CONSTITUTION: Based on the number of sheets of maintenance contract controlled by a copying machine control device 2 and the totally counted value of the present number of copied sheets, a copying machine 1 judges whether a set mode is a copying inhibition mode or a single copy permitting mode or an ordinary copying mode. In the case where the copying inhibition mode is set, the display that the contract has expired is performed on the liquid crystal display part of a control panel 23. Simultaneously, an instruction to connect the device 2 to a public line is displayed on the panel 23 so as to make a control part 31 in the copying inhibition mode. For example, the copying inhibition mode is set by inhibiting a paper feeding operation command from being outputted to a paper supply part 12 from the control part 31. Thus, the user side is surely informed that the maintenance contract becomes null and void and the report on the contract expiration is surely transmitted to a host computer 4. |
