<p>PURPOSE: To easily extend a magnetic tape unit in a magnetic tape device provided with plural magnetic tape units. CONSTITUTION: This magnetic tape device is provided with plural magnetic tape units and an automatic cartridge feeding mechanism. The respective magnetic tape units individually have MPUs 22, respectively, the circuit part 8 of an ALC mechanism belonging to the automatic cartridge feeding mechanism decides which MPU 22 is to be selected according to the demand for using the automatic cartridge feeding mechanism issued from the magnetic tape unit.</p> |
