PURPOSE: To obtain a stable image by improving the adhesion property of a roll transfer paper to a photoreceptor and preventing a void due to a failure in a transfer. CONSTITUTION: This transfer device is provided with two kinds of feeding paths, that is, a cut paper feeding path 20 and a roll paper feeding path 21 and a manual paper feeding detecting sensor 28 and a roll paper feeding detecting sensor 29 which detect the presence of a transfer paper, in the feeding paths 20 and 21 respectively, so that a feeding state is detected by these sensors. When the fact that a fed transfer paper is the roll transfer paper is detected by the roll paper feeding detecting sensor 29, a voltage applied to the phtoreceptor 1 is switched to make a transfer current high and electrostatic attracting force is increased for the photoreceptor 1, to increase the adhesion property and prevent the void caused by the failure in the transfer. |
