PURPOSE: To obtain a magnetic recording and reproducing device which can reduce a noise of a magnetic recording and reproducing device without changing outer package and the like of a conventional magnetic recording and reproducing device. CONSTITUTION: This device has an active noise control device canceling a noise generated in a head drum device 1 being a noise generating source. The active noise control device a control loudspeaker 2, plural error detectors 3a, 3b detecting an error sound of a generated sound of the control loudspeaker and a noise generating source, and a noise control circuit which controls a sound generated by the control loudspeaker 2 so that detected signals of the error detectors 3a, 3b are inputted and a noise of the head drum device 1 is canceled.
