<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a new readily producible anilide derivative useful as an intermediate for medicines and agrochemicals, e.g. an N-acyl-N- phenyltetrahydrophthalamic acid derivative having herbicidal activities. CONSTITUTION: The compound of formula I [Y is a halogen; R<1> is a group of the formula CHR<5> CO2 R<6> (R<5> is H or a lower alkyl; R<6> is a lower alkyl); R<2> is a lower alkyl or a (substituted) phenyl], e.g. methyl 5-acetylamino-2- chloro-4-fluorophenylthioacetate. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting (C) a compound of formula II with (D) a compound of the formula R<2> COZ (Z is Y) in the presence (or absence) of (A) a solvent such as toluene or DMF using (B) a base such as triethylamine as a deacidifying agent. Furthermore, the amounts of the respective components used in obtaining the objective compound are preferably 0.95-1.5 equiv. component (B) and 0.95-1.2 equiv. component (D) based on one equiv. component (A). The reaction is carried out at -20 to +150 deg.C for 10min to 12hr.</p> |
