Shock-absorber disc for automobile clutch and manufacture thereof

A disc (2) or (3) which serves as part of a shock absorber in an automobile clutch mechanism comprises circumferentially spaced dish-like indentations (21) whose circumferentially facing end walls are reinforced and have holes therein. In manufacture the holes are formed in the disc before the indentations, and the disc is subsequently plated non-electrolytically with a Ni-P alloy and hardened by induction heating and quenching.
