PURPOSE: To obtain a solid fermentation soil activator which is useful for fertilizing soil, improving soil structure, and improving the growth and qualities of cultivated plants by using, as the main effective component, a symbiotic mixed culture product of a specific thermophilic actinomycete and another kind of fibrin-decomposing bacteria. CONSTITUTION: This solid fermentation soil activator contains, as the main effective component, a symbiotic mixed culture product comprising a thermophilic actinomycete, thermoactinomyces SKO53 sp. nov. (Agency of Industrial Science and Technology, Life Engineering Research Institute. FERM P-13598), which belongs to the genus thermoactinomyces and has a growth temp. range of 10-85 deg.C, a growth pH range of 5.3-10.8, and lignin-solubilizing and fibrin-decomposing capabilities and another kind of fibrin-decomposing bacteria. An esp. effective example of the latter bacteria is a kind of thermophilic fibrin-decomposing bacteria, Clostridium thermocellum biovar. SK522 (Fermentation Research Institute FERM BP-3459). Other examples of the latter bacteria include methanogens and hydrogenomonas in addition to aerobic, anaerobic, and thermophilic fibrin-decomposing bacteria. |
