A shunt (1) is permanently sited beneath the continuously circulating conveyor-pockets (5) and is movable between a non-operating and a discharge position. The shunt picks up and transfers the clothes-hanger into a line running to one side of or across the direction of travel (T).The shunt has a linkage (2) sloping towards the discharge side in relation to the vertical, and pointing horizontally in the direction of travel in its non-operating position. The shunt is brought into its discharge position by spring (4) force.
