Vertical magnetic head production method and corresponding magnetic head

The method involves depositing two pole pieces (30) on either side of a nonmagnetic spacer and covering with insulation. Two spiral grooves are etched in the insulation and filled with conductive material for the windings (50). Another insulating layer is added and openings are made, in the centres of the windings as far as the pole pieces, and over corresponding ends (73) of the windings. A bridge (70) of magnetic material is grown electrolytically in contact with both pole pieces while a conductive bridge (75) is formed simultaneously with connections through the other openings to the winding ends.
