PURPOSE: To provide a vehicle position detection device which can accurately detect vehicle speed corresponding to a plurality of types of vehicle sensors. CONSTITUTION: When a vehicle speed signal interface circuit corresponding to a specific type of vehicle speed sensor 11 being mounted on a vehicle is selected out of a plurality of types of vehicle speed signal interface circuits A-X provided at a vehicle position detection device 1 and either output cable is connected to either of the input connectors CNA-CNX, a vehicle speed signal is inputted according to the drive of the vehicle. The inputted vehicle speed signal is subjected to noise elimination and digitization by either of vehicle speed interface circuits A and X and is outputted through an OR circuit 3 and the number of pulses per unit time is counted by a counting circuit 5, thus accurately detecting the current position of a vehicle from the travel distance per unit time and azimuth information by a position calculation device 7. |
