<p>PURPOSE: To comply with different-diameter wire harnesses and surely waterproof it by providing a wire harness insertion part with a large-diameter cylinder part extending to a partition wall attachment part, a conical cylinder in its end, and a short small-diameter cylinder part at its further end continuously. CONSTITUTION: Diameters of a small-diameter cylinder part 12c and a conical cylinder 12b of an insertion part 12 of a grommet 10 are enlarged by a grommet enlargement machine so that a wire harness is inserted therein. When the wire harness has small diameter, the small-diameter cylinder part 12c, and when it has a large diameter, the conical cylinder part 12b is closely fitted around the outer circumference of the wire harness so as to secure sealing performance. After the grommet 10 is made to axially slide so as to minutely adjust a position, an adhesive tape is wound up so as to be fixed to the wire harness while a projection piece 13 contacts with the outer circumference. In this state, an engagement groove 11b of the grommet 10 is made to engage with the circumferential edge of the penetration hole of a partition wall of a vehicle so as to be assembled.</p> |
