PURPOSE: To surely prevent blurring in writing and failure of wetting function by a structure wherein a valve body is equipped with a weight part, in which the center of gravity of the valve body exists, and a valve part, which abuts against a valve seat in a ball-point pen provided with a valve function for blocking an ink circulating passage by abutting against the valve seat, when a pen point is directed upwards. CONSTITUTION: A ball-point pen A has a ball 1, a ball pen tip 2, a pipe body 3 and a holder 4. The inner hole 4a of the holder 4 is some part of an ink circulating passage communicating ink with the inner hole 2a of the ball pen tip 2. On the inner hole 4a, a valve seat 4b is formed as a peripherally inwardly projecting part. A valve body 5 consists of a valve part 5a arranged on a pen point side from the valve seat 4b, a weight part 5b arranged opposite to the valve part 5a and a connecting part 5c, which connects the valve part 5a and the valve seat 5b together. When the pen point is directed upwards, the valve 5a and the valve seat 4b abut against each other, resulting in blocking a valve mechanism or shutting off the ink on the pen point side from the valve seat 4b from the ink on an ink tank side. |
