PURPOSE: To provide a taper shank with desirable rotational balance and little vibration by forming ATC key grooves in the same dimension, and further forming drive key grooves in the same dimension. CONSTITUTION: In order to eliminate unbalanced shape to be the factor of vibration, the geometric asymmetry of a hollow taper shank 1 is improved as follows: The width of a pair of ATC key grooves 1a is made the same dimension, and the depth of a pair of drive key grooves 1c is made the same dimension. The depth of these drive key grooves 1c is unified to the larger dimension of the drive key grooves 1c, 1d so as to be usable as it is for a spindle for a standard hollow taper shank. On this occasion, a manual orientation cutout and an ID sensor fitting hole are disused. |
