Loom weft yarn overhang is optimised to save material, ensure clamping

A thread clamping and cutting device in an air-jet loom has a cutter comprising a first stationary scissors blade and a second blade which moves w.r.t. the first to cut the thread and a clamp comprising an upper and lower clamp component. Here, the distance between the cutter (9, 10) and the clamp (13, 14) is adjustable. Pref. the cutter is fixed to a loom mounting and the clamp can be shifted w.r.t. the cutter or vice versa by screw adjustment, insertion of distance pieces or similar, and is both rough and fine.
