<p>The fuel tank (2) is emptied by removing the fuel gauge and inserting a tube in the fuel gauge aperture (5) which reaches to the bottom of the tank and is connected by pipes (10,12) and a suction pump (11) to a container (13) for the extracted fuel. The tube inserted into the fuel tank is adjusted so that its end reaches the bottom of the tank, and it is sealed round the fuel gauge aperture, e.g. by a supple compression ring and a nut connected to a handle used to tension and release it.</p> |
