Ceramic firing aid system for stacking and supporting ceramic products,e.g. plates, during firing

In a firing aid system for the ceramics industry,consisting of silicon carbide plates and supports subjected to dense liq. phase sintering, the novelty is that: (a) the liq. phase is formed by Al2O3 and Y2O3 addns.; (b) the plates have a thickness/length ratio of 1.150-300; and (c) the supports are hollow cylindrical bodies which are reinforced by longitudinal ribs on their outer walls and which can be inserted in reception openings of the plates.
