Machine-readable optical coding for transfer of information

The coding comprises an uninterrupted base line (1) together with numerous linear branches (2) which extend out from the base line to one or other side, or to both sides at the same time. The branches and the base line have the same width, and the angle between them is 90 deg . A number of base lines arranged in parallel with each other are used. The coding is carried out to a base of three. The three digits of the code are formed by a branch to the left, a branch to the right and branches to both sides at the same time. A truth table is used to code information.
