PURPOSE: To improve the copying processing velocity, also, to eliminate the positional deviation of an image and to obtain a good image quality, with respect to a color image forming device using an intermediate transfer belt for successively transferring a toner image formed on a photoreceptor for every color. CONSTITUTION: As for the image forming device provided with the intermediate transfer means on which the toner images formed on the photoreceptor are successively overlapped for every one color and transferred, and a separable cleaning means for removing residual toner on the intermediate transfer means after the image is transferred to a recording paper, the device is provided with a system control board 301 for controlling the photoreceptor so as to be separated from the intermediate transfer means by the time of starting the 1st color transfer to the intermediate transfer means from the start of printing, and controlling the cleaning means so as to abut on the intermediate transfer means at least as large as the maximum copying size. |
