Collision detecting and sensing unit for vehicle occupant safety airbag system

The detector for determining the existence of a collision decides on basis of the two output signals of the deformation detector and the acceleration detector. It only then decides, if the deformation caused by the collision and the acceleration produced by the collision simultaneously are determined by the deformation sensor (1) and the acceleration sensor (3). The detector for determining the existence of a collision of a vehicle, produces an operating signal in response to the existence of a collision. The operating signal is then transmitted to an ignition unit, in order to activate a circuit, which inflates an airbag arranged in the vehicle.
