发明名称 LIGHT-TRANSMITTING SUBSTRATE
摘要 PURPOSE: To obtain a light-transmitting substrate having such high water repellency and staining resistance that no stain can adhere thereto or stains can be easily removed even if the substrate is stained by chemically fixing a chemisorptive monomolecular film having water-repelling groups and a thickness of the order of nanometers on the surface of a resin substrate. CONSTITUTION: This substrate is prepared by chemically fixing a chemisorptive monomolecular film having water-repelling groups and a thickness of the order of nanometers on at least either surface of a resin substrate (e.g. substrate made of an acrylic resin or a polycarbonate resin). It is desirable that the monomolecular film is fixed on the substrate through siloxane bonds. The reason why this is desirable is that the film can be formed highly densely even when the substrate has only a small amount of hydrophilic groups exposed to the surface. It is desirable that the water-repelling groups are fluorohydrocarbon groups.
