The invention concerns a method and a device for reducing cartons (1) to a small volume for waste disposal or further use. According to the invention, an incision (5) is first made in the carton (1) close to the bottom (3), extending roughly one-half of the way into the carton starting from one corner, and then the two sides that are thus released from the bottom are pressed against the two sides that are still attached to the bottom. In this way cartons can be stacked on top of one another in a small space. |
