A device is disclosed for holding unstable packages in a standing position. Typical examples of unstable packages are conical buckets or hobbocks. Such packages are stacked on transport or storage aids, such as pallets, for storage or transport purposes. The disclosed stands have cut-outs (2) that correspond to the horizontal cross-section of the packages. The stands are designed as blanks (1) with cut-outs (2) and their outer dimensions substantially correspond to the supporting surface of the pallets. Flaps (3) are shaped on at least two opposite sides of the blanks (1). The outer edges of the flaps (3) are shaped in such a way that they may be blocked in the supporting surface. The parting lines between blank (1) and flaps (3) are designed as hinges (5).
