Bicycle with auxiliary electric motor on front wheel

An ordinary pedal bicycle may be fitted with an auxiliary power unit (B). This may consist of a small electric motor mounted on the front wheel (3) of the bicycle. There is a gear lever (7) to control the front wheel gearing (4) and the conventional rear wheel (1) gearing (2), both gears being switched synchronously. This is done using a pair of Bowden cables (5,6) and a single lever on the handlebars.
