a rear surface plate in which a picture electrode and a TFT for driving the electrode are provided; a color filter for determining a color of a transmitted light; a front surface plate in which a black matrix for absorbing an external light and an overcoating layer for removing a concave-convex of the surface; an interval maintaining means for maintaining an interval between the front surface and rear surface plates; and a liquid crystal filled in a fine gap between the front surface and rear surface plates, the interval maintaining means including a group of spacers and protrusions by a bond material for securing the group of spacers, the protrusions being secured on the inner side of the one side of the front surface and rear surface plates to thereby maintain the interval between the front surface and rear surface plates.
