<p>PURPOSE: To obtain an electrostatic developing method to transfer a developer on a carrier body to an electrostatic latent image holding member in the area where the carrier body faces the image holding member so that melt sticking of a toner or pulverization into a fine powder is hardly caused, good quantitative stability for formation of layers and good stability against environments can be obtd. without losing thermal fixing property, and that an image having a long life and high quality can be obtd. without voids, by incorporating particles of fatty acid metal salt into the developer. CONSTITUTION: The developer contains particles of fatty acid metal salt. As for the fatty acid for the particles of fatty acid metal salt, polyvalent satd. fatty acids such as butyric acid, valeric acid and lauric acid, univalent unsatd. fatty acids such as crotonic acid and oleic acid, and polyvalent unsatd. fatty acids such as maleic acid and citraconic acid are used. Usually, particles of fatty acid metal salt having 0.2 to 30μm average particle size before addition are used. The amt. of the fatty acid metal salt added depends on the particle size, and usually 0.01 to 5 pts.wt. of the powder to 100 pts.wt. of toner particles, more preferably 0.03 to 1.5 pts.wt., is enough to obtain a significant effect.</p> |
