PURPOSE: To provide a receptacle type electrical connector which does not have a penetration hole which causes the entry of foreign matters without the need for a complex model structure or production method. CONSTITUTION: A stopper 3 is integrally installed in the almost concave part of a terminal 2 which is inserted in a space for engagement 4 through a penetration hole 10 formed in a housing 1. The stopper 3 is made to fill the penetration hole 10 just enough when set at the fixed position in the space for engagement 4. As a result, foreign matters, etc., entering the space for engagement 4 side are prevented from passing through the penetration hole 10 by completely blocking the penetration hole 10 with the stopper 3.
